The fight to save The Deep stepped up a gear, with senior Lib Dem MP Sir Ed Davey visiting Hull to lend his support to the campaign.
Sir Ed, who is a former Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, was given a tour of The Deep and lent his support to the Hull Lib Dem campaign to force a re-think. The Lib Dems in Hull are campaigning for alternative locations for the cruise terminal to be considered - including Albert Dock in west Hull.
2,000 people have signed a petition demanding that Hull's Labour Council starts listening to the growing concerns from international experts in marine biology and The Deep itself.
Ed Davey said:
"The Deep is Hull's number one tourist attraction and it is clear how much it is valued by the residents of the city. I can understand why the local Lib Dem team are doing all they can to support the Deep in the efforts to protect its future."
