Every resident deserves to live on a clean and well-maintained street. Our local environments can have a significant influence on our physical and mental wellbeing and we want all residential areas to be safe, accessible and enjoyable places to live.
Litter and fly-tipping continue to be a problem in Hull. Residents have also told us that they want to see verges properly looked after and for weeds and overgrowth to be kept in check.
The Council should make it easier – not harder – for residents to dispose of waste and recycle. We will extend the city’s waste and recycling centres’ opening hours, so that people can recycle seven days per week.
By investing in the local environment and taking an ambitious approach to waste and recycling, we can also help to support efforts to protect wildlife and encourage biodiversity.
