Crime Prevention Action

Residents across Hull are worried about crime and it should be the job of this Council to show leadership and to work with our partners to help people stay safe.

But rather than invest in the safety of local communities, Guildhall bosses want to spend £638,000 on a cruise terminal in the middle of a pandemic.

The priority of every councillor should be to protect the residents they serve. That’s why the Liberal Democrats will reverse Labour plans to spend £638,000 on a cruise terminal and will instead use £500,000 of that money to create a Community Safety Fund - putting the rest towards its £1.85 million road & footpath infrastructure and maintenance funding boost.

Crime prevention will be a Liberal Democrat priority. Residents have told us that they want action to help keep local communities safer, we’ve listened, and that’s what we’ll deliver.
