Lib Dem campaign against new parking charges for the stadium zone a success

At today’s Cabinet meeting, Labour Councillors decided not to introduce charges of £33 for the residents’ parking zone around the Stadium, but they did not rule out introducing the charges in the future.

The Cabinet once again deferred the decision on what the new parking charge scheme would be, and delegated the decision to the Portfolio Holder.

Calls for new green spaces to be opened

Pickering ward’s Lib Dem councillors are calling for green spaces at the former Tilbury School and former Bethune School sites to be opened to the public.

The Council had promised to convert and redevelop the areas into new pieces of green space open to the public as part of the planning conditions when they got agreement to build the new Bridgeview School in the area.
