The Lib Dem team in Hessle have spoken out against Labour plans for a bandstand in Hessle Town Square, using the money set aside to keep car parking free in Hessle.

The Lib Dem team in Hessle has a track record of fighting to keep car parking free in Hessle.
Councillor Margot Sutton said, "Labour Councillors in Hessle want to spend £25,000 on a bandstand in Hessle, using the money set aside to prevent future car parking charges. There is no evidence that local people want a bandstand, and yet we know there is strong public opinion that car parking should remain free.
Councillor David Nolan added, "Labour Councillors plan to fund a Bandstand from Council Tax money that has been specifically collected and ring-fenced to prevent car-parking charges.
If Labour has their way, Hessle could end up with the double-whammy of a White elephant of a Bandstand and car-parking charges that would hit our local shops and traders.
