Opposition Lib Dem councillors have launched a campaign calling for customer service centre cuts to be reversed.
In December the Labour councillor in charge of the customer service centres, Councillor Alan Clark, announced that Holderness Road CSC would close for a day a week.
Last week he has announced a further cut, meaning it will no longer be open at weekends from the weekend after next.
Councillors were told that the cuts would only be temporary, but no reassurances have been given about how long the reduced opening times will last.
Lib Dem councillor Adam Williams said: “I find it completely unacceptable that our area's customer service centre seems to be being singled out for cuts in this way.
“This isn't the first time our area has been hit by reductions in service. In 2014 the Labour Council tried to close the Holderness Road Library altogether and reduce the opening hours at the Customer Service Centre.
“I, along with Councillors Diana Hatcher and Linda Chambers, are determined to challenge this reduction and are asking people to help us campaign against it.”
