After the success of a recent Flood Bus event in Derringham ward a further visit has been arranged for February 2015.
On Monday 8 December 2014 Derringham ward held its first Flood Bus.
Many residents attended the event where they were able to ask questions to representatives from Yorkshire Water, the Environment Agency, the Council’s Floods Team and local Councillors.
Resident helped to identify issues around gullies being blocked when roads are re-surfaced.
The event proved such a success that a second Flood Bus event has been arranged for February 2015, details to be made available in the New Year.
Councillor Cheryl Payne said: “It’s really important that residents get to have their say and ask questions about flooding, which I know is a great concern for many.
“Hearing about all the work that the different organisations were trying to do to prevent flooding in the area was also useful.
“After the success of the first event we are hoping to hold a second one in February next year. This will give more residents in the ward the chance to have their voice heard and listen to what is going on to prevent flooding in the area.”
