Hull's Lib Dem group has backed calls for next year's tournament to be played around the country, including here in Hull at the Kcom Stadium.
Lib Dem acting leader Ed Davey has called for the rescheduled Euro 2021 matches to be played in Hull and across the country rather than just at Wembley.
The party wants to see this happen to help local economies who have particularly suffered during Coronavirus get a kick start once it is safe to do so.
Lib Dem Cllr Jack Haines said:
"Hosting matches at next year's Euro championship is exactly boost this city needs.
"It would be great for the local economy as well as bring some international focus on the city.
“I hope residents, politicians and people from all across the city can get behind this idea and once again put Hull in the limelight.”
