Concerns have been raised about parking while events are on in East Park.
Holderness ward councillor Jackie Dad has raised residents concerns about the parking after receiving reports about over parking and confrontation.
In recent months concerns has grown about the lack of marshalling and controlled parking. This has led to dangerous parking, blocked drives, confrontation and reduced access to the roads around the park whilst events are on.
Jackie said: “The events aren’t the problem; everyone wants to see the park being used. However, the lack of marshalling and controlled parking at some events has led to some big problems.
“Some residents have had drives blocked. In other cases access to roads has been reduced, in some cases I’m not sure the emergency services would be able to get down the road.
“I have had meetings with the Events Team and recently requested a meeting of the East Park Steering Group to raise residents concerns.
“I have been assured that future applications for events will have to address the parking issue. The Council has also agreed to initiate a pilot which will see Council staff acting to ticket and monitor parking ”
Jackie added: “I will of course continue to monitor the issue and listen to residents concerns.”
