Dave Woods is the Lib Dem candidate standing for the Derringham Ward in this May's 2021 local elections.
Covering Willerby Road, Wold Road & Priory Road areas.
About me:
I am a long term resident for over 20 years I have lived with my family locally in west Hull. I am a keen cyclist and passionate about the local environment; protecting green spaces, letting local people have their say on planning issues and keeping streets clean and tidy. My daughter, Helena, was previously our area’s Lib Dem councillor 2007-2011. My wife Karen was a former Lord Mayor and I am a former west Hull councillor.
A community champion:
Dave is passionate about local communities, the environment and a keen cyclist. He recognises the importance of community greenspaces to local people and how they help improve a community's health and well being.
Real world experience:
Dave is a former councillor, Lib Dem Group Leader and Portfolio Holder with responsibility for roads, pavements and waste management.
Under his leadership he more than doubled Hull's recycling rates between 2006-11 saving local tax payers millions in landfill taxes and was part of the team that brought Siemens, green energy and jobs to Hull.
Working hard for Derringham Ward:
Dave's background makes him a champion of tackling the local issues that really matter to people on Willerby Road, Wold Road, Priory Road, Setting Dyke and Derringham Bank.
Working with Ryan and Cheryl he has helped to keep people safer by handing out shed and garage alarms, fixing broken pavements and keeping our areas clean, green and tidy.
Together, Dave and the Lib Dem team will see the first dog bag dispensers in Hull installed across our area
