Mike Ross is the Lib Dem Councillor re-standing for the Beverley & Newland Ward in this May's 2021 local elections.
Covering Beverley High Road, Beverley Road & Newland Avenue areas.
About me:
I have lived in this area since 2000 - when I moved here to study at Hull University. I currently live off Chanterlands Avenue with my wife Shirley and my two children Fraser and Florence. Previously I have lived off Goddard Avenue and on Alexandra Road in the southern half of Beverley and Newland ward.
A community champion:
I have helped with large community campaigns such as the successful campaign to save the Ennerdale Swimming Baths from closure in 2013.
An experienced Councillor:
I have previously been the portfolio holder responsible for both education and crime prevention in the city during which time the Council became the most improved local authority in the country.
Working hard for Beverley & Newland ward:
Certain parts of Beverley and Newland ward are amongst the worst areas of the city for fly-tipping. We have organised regular bring out your rubbish days and community litter picks over the past few years and we will continue to work with the council to make sure our area gets extra investment to tackle this major local issue.
