A programme of ‘Bring Out Your Rubbish Days’ in Hull City Council’s Beverley ward has been completed.
Local councillors Dave McCobb and Karen Mathieson secured the funding and helped to organise the programme.
In total over 3,800 houses were covered during September, October and November. Over that period thousands of tons of waste was collected and hundreds of bulky items taken away.
Dave said: “Over the last few years we have organised a number of these programmes and they have been very popular each time. Residents regularly ask on the doorstep when the next one will be, and if they can have more of them.”
“I just want to say thank you to all the staff who collected the waste, and to all the residents who have sent their feedback and suggestions for how the service could be improved for future.
“Overall it was really great to see the how helpful local people find these events.”
