Sutton ward is named after Sutton, a village which has been engulfed within the city but which still retains its distinct identity and character. The ward is split into three parts, the easternmost containing Sutton village, the central section a part of Bransholme and the westernmost portion a part of Sutton Park. It is bounded to the south by Sutton Road. Due to the nature of its geography there is a wide variety of housing types in Sutton, from the historic houses of Sutton Village to the modern development of Sutton Park.
