The Lib Dem team are working with residents to improve Rockford Fields. “The grass in the area has recently been cut back,” said Jan. “We are working to make the area a natural beauty area to protect local wildlife.” The team are looking for funding to create a natural play area on Rockford Fields and have worked with residents to set up a ‘Friends’ group.

15 Jan 2010 - Improving East Park

Work has begun on the demolition of the old bowling pavilion in the Youth Zone at the front of East Park. The local Lib Dem have supported the demolition, that will eventually mean a brand new building. They fought for funding in order for the works to take place.

“Plans will be drawn up for the new building in the near future,” said Jan Hornby. Extra work is being done to provide more equipment in the skate park. “Users of the skate park have been consulted and work should be finished by next summer,” said Cllr Yvonne Uzzell.
