05 Sep 2010 - More Community Payback in our area
With funding agreed by the Lib Dem team, the Community Payback team cleared the rubbish away from the drain at the junction of Wold Road and Wymersley Road.
21 Aug 2010 - Bringing Services to You
Residents of Wold Road and Birdsall Avenue were recently paid a visit by the the council and other organisations in a mobile forum. The police, antisocial behaviour team, community wardens, Warmfront advisor and he local Lib Dem team boarded the Community Safety Action Partnership bus to go and visit residents in the area. 53 people came to the bus, and many were complimentary about the area. Cllr Stephen Hull commented, “This is a good way to make council and other services accessible to people on their own doorsteps.”
07 Aug 2010 - Free Burglar Alarms
After residents expressed concerns about burglary in the area, your local Lib Dem team have provided free burglar alarms to victims of shed and garage burglaries. “It can be deeply affecting when someone violates any part of your home,” said councillor Helena Woods. “We hope the burglar alarms help people feel safer.” Please get in touch with the Lib Dem team to find out more.
24 Jul 2010 - Bringing out your rubbish on Bristol Road
Local Lib Dems Helena Woods, Martin Uzzell and Stephen Hull were pleased to support the Bristol Road Residents’ Association who organised a “Bring Out Your Rubbish” event on their street.
“The events proved to be very popular and we were glad to provide funding,” said Helena. “Congratulations to the residents’ association for taking on the task of organising this,” added Martin.
19 Feb 2010 - Dangerous Tree Felled
After hearing concerns from residents, Lib Dem councillors arranged for a tree at the side of Wold Road to be felled. Cllr Stephen Hull said: “The tree looked dangerous and was worrying residents who had to walk and drive past it. We asked the council to take a look, and they decided the safest course of action was to have it cut down.”
