Named after the Bransholme housing estate of which it covers part, the Bransholme West ward is almost entirely social housing. It is surrounded by Bude Road, Wawbe Road, Leads Road, Midmere Avenue, Barbstaple Road, Holwell Road, Littondale and Cheltenham Avenue. The estate is served by North Point shopping centre, which falls within the ward.

Residents in the area around the Coleford Primary site have called for action to stop nuisance motorcycles. “The Police have been informed and asked to take action to stop this happening,” said local Lib Dem campaigner Aimi Sugarman.

19 Aug 2010 - Better play facilities for local children

Local residents are delighted with the new play area on Bude Road. Local Lib Dem campaigner Aimi Sugarman said: “It’s great to see the new play park open. There was a great atmosphere at the opening.” “This is my local park and my own family uses it, so I know how appreciated it is,” Aimi said.

“The work has been a whole community effort. It would not have happened without the Friends of Bude Park community group. This is only a first step, and local Lib Dem councillors are talking to local people about updating the water play area,” added Aimi.

12 Aug 2010 - Tackling speeding traffic on Bude Road

“Local residents have reported speeding traffic on Bude Road,” said local Lib Dem campaigner Aimi Sugarman. “The Police have been told and are working with the Council to tackle the problem.”

28 Jul 2010 - Action on graffiti in Bransholme

Residents in Newlyn Close and St Ives Close have contacted the local Lib Dems about dog mess. “I’m asking the Council to keep the area clean and tidy,” said local Lib Dem campaigner Aimi Sugarman.
