Occupying part of the western boundary of the city, Boothferry ward is named after Boothferry Road, part of which runs along the boundary. The ward is bounded on to the east by the Hull to Beverley railway the Hull and Barnsley railway, a cycle path and Boothferry Road; to the south by Boothferry Estate; to the west by the city boundary with Anlaby and to the north by County Road. Spring Bank West, Calvert Road, Calvert Lane, North Road and Anlaby Road run within its boundaries.

31 Aug 2010 - Good news at Anlaby Park Library
The “gapping up” fencing works are now complete at Anlaby Park Library. “The appearance of the area has improved since this work was completed,” says local campaigner councillor Karen Woods.
23 Jul 2010 - Verge Damage Stopped
Bollards have been installed at various places across our area. This was done with the help of money allocated by your local Lib Dem team. “Cars and vans were driving over grass verges and parking there, causing damage”, said local councillor Karen Woods. “We were keen to do something to prevent this.”
Grass areas are now protected in a number of locations, with bollards put in over the last few months. in Patterdale Road, one of the areas that has seen improvements, feedback has been positive. Councillor Chris Gurevitch said: “Residents got in touch with us to let us know about this, and now the bollards are installed they are satisfied that we’ve listened to their concerns.”
28 Mar 2010 - Mini-market Now Open
The mini-market at the old Priory cinema was unveilled last month by local Lib Dem councillor Pat Ellis. Local campaigner Steve Baker is very keen to see this facility succeed. “We’re also working with the owners to provide a communal area,” said Pat. “The owners are working with local residents to make this a success.”
26 Feb 2010 - Boothferry Park Demolition is complete
The final phase of demolition at Boothferry Park is now complete, local Lib Dem councillors are pleased to announce. Only the floodlights remain on the site now, the buildings having been removed after pressure from local residents and councillors.
The floodlights themselves are still a concern to residents, and local councillors are keen to see them removed too. Speaking to the local media, Newington Councillor Craig Woolmer said: "I still feel more action needs to be taken at the site to improve the quality of life for local residents and will continue to put pressure on the site's owners."
14 Feb 2010 - Ascott Close Park to be Refurbished
The small park at the end of Ascott Close is to be refurbished under a scheme agreed by local Lib Dem councillors. Local residents will be consulted on what they want to see in the park before work begins, so they can shape the plans.
“The council needs to invest in parks like this to give local children a safe and exciting place to play,” said local campaigner Steve Baker. The council should be in touch with local residents shortly.
